Scholarships
Scholarships are available to undergraduate Mathematics majors. They are:
Carl G. Townsend Award
This scholarship is for outstanding junior and senior mathematics majors. A student must have at least 3.5 GPA in math and 3.0 overall to apply. The Townsend Award is around $1000 depending on how the stock market is behaving that year.
Imogene C. Beckemeyer Endowed Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior (preferably female/minority) student in Math with a 3.0 or higher GPA; recipient must have plans to pursue teaching (preferably high school) as a career. The Beckemeyer award is between $500 and $1000.
W.C. McDaniel Scholarship Endowment
This scholarship is used to support a junior or senior student in Math who plans to pursue a graduate degree in Math.
The McDaniel award is between $500 and $1000.
Besides the above scholarships, undergraduate research opportunities are available from CURCA, Center for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities. Several professors have taken up students under these scholarships.
